The first day of the Stuart Boat Show was well received and with hopes for a better weekend turnout. Day 2 of the largest boat show on Treasure Coast will open for the second day this weekend, Saturday January 16 at 10:00 a.m. The annual boat show has been named as one of the “Top 20 Events” in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society last year.

The Stuart Boat Show features more than 175 local, national, and international exhibitors exhibiting hundreds of boats in the water and on land, as well as marine and boating accessories. This year marks the 132nd anniversary of the oldest existing congregation in Palm Beach. The church building is an example of the gothic revival style and surrounds a courtyard. In the late 1880’s the need for a church in ever expanding South Florida area was increasing.  Reverend Joseph N. Mulford, a pastor at Christ Church in New York, volunteered to start a mission in South Florida. In 1889, they congregated on the shores of Lake Worth to establish an Episcopal mission.

Initially, Bethesda by the Sea, the church began in the Little Red Schoolhouse in January 1889. The preliminary church was built of mostly wood from old packing boxes washed up from the beach with service beginning in April that year. There was little access to the church aside

Visitors will learn about each sea turtle patient housed there during the tours and the Loggerhead Marinelife Staff will be there to answer all your questions about sea turtles, the ocean, the center itself, and marine life. Palm Beach County’s first tourists were the early settlers. These earliest visitors became the first residents of the area. The first permanent residents of Palm Beach County date back to 1872. They struggled to clear the dense marshland for building homes and growing crops.   

Farming was the way that most of the early homesteaders and pioneers made their living. Lilly Pulitzer (1931-2013), the famed Palm Beach clothing designer, thought it would be fun to incorporate her name in the patterns of her dresses. Its that time of year again for the annual South Florida Fair. This year, the South Florida Fair is bringing everyone two fairs in 2021. The first fair which starts tomorrow January 15th through January 31st will be a mini fair and the full traditional fair will be held in May of this year.

The mini–South Florida Fair rolls into West Palm Beach this January 15th through 31st. The upcoming fair will be held outdoors and include the typical fair foods and beverages, a variety of local and tribute bands performing daily, shopping from local vendors, a giant sand sculpture, racing pigs, farm animals, rides, fair games, and much more.

The 2021 Honda Classic will take place at PGA National Resort & Spa on mArch 15-21. As of now, the tournament will host patrons but with a reenvisoned planned from what we are use to seeing at PGA National. 

Attendance will indeed be limited in 2021, but tournament officials are building a unique and first-class fan experience, provided in a safe and responsible setting while making make a significant charitable impact in South Florida. 

As the primary focus is on the health and well-being for all workers, players and atendees with the tournament, and the local community, daily attendance will be limited. Several local restaurants have teamed up together to participate in the first “Eat in for Education” event this January. The Palm Beach Chapter of the Florida Restaurants and Lodging Association (FRLA) is hosting the virtual event to help support educational scholarships for local culinary and hospitality students. The event is scheduled to take place this January 20th and January 21st.

Fifteen local hotels and restaurants will participate by donating three-course takeout meals for the event. Diners will have a two-tier option to spend $50 or $100 dollars on a takeout meal for two. Palm Beach County residents are encouraged to participate and purchase these takeout meals to help benefit the event and help support local businesses.
